What kind of eye makeup is best for my eyes?

I have slightly almond shaped eyes. Not like extreme but they are really small. I would like some eye make up tips to make them look bigger. I don't want my eyes to be really covered but I want them to stand out and for people to know that I am wearing makeup. Please help!

dark brown/black eyeliner and a bronze shimmer.
or maybe even green shimmer?
