How to Making up Your Eyes?
Here are simple steps to making up your eyes:
Prep your eyes
This step is needed only if you have darkish under eye circles. Apply 3 dots of concealed under your eye. Start at the inner corner where skin tends to be darkest, then under the pupil and the third on the outer edge. Blend with a brush or you’re concealed until it disappears.
- Using a fine, blunt-ended brush, gently apply the base color to the entire lid from the inside to the outside corner and from the base of the lashes to the eyelid crease.
- If the eyes need extra definition, a deeper shade is blended into the crease line. This gives depth to the eyes.
- The brow bone is highlighted with a light shade. This gives the eyes a wide, open look. The color is applied to the most prominent area and blended up towards the brow and down to where the contour curves down, toward the eyelid creases.
Before using them on the lids, always test the colors on the back of the hand to test the intensity. You can use even 3-4 colors, provided they are blended well. Remember pale tones emphasize, while deep sooty shades define.
Test, on the back of your hand, the amount of pressure you should apply. Unless you are a real artist, it is best to steady your elbow on a flat surface. Work from the inside of the eye to the outside corner and keep the line light and even. If you stop at the corner of the eyes, the effect will be round and wide-eyed; if you continue the line and sweep it up and out, you would get a more exotic look. Finally smudge the edges with a cotton bud to soften them.
Application Technique for the Pencil Eyeliner:
Pencils can be used in the same manner to define or extend the shape of the eyes, but they give a softer, more natural line. Keep them sharpened and ready for use, as blunted or broken points can spoil the whole effect.
With a gold or pink highlighter (white is too bright), draw a v-shaped shape that follows the inner corner of your eye from top to bottom. Blend with your fingers. This gives you a 'bright-eyed' look.
Highlight your brow
Take the same highlighter and dab it on your brow bone, concentrating on your mid-brow outward. Blend with your finger.
Warm your eyelash curler under a blow-dryer for a few seconds. Touch curler to make sure it's not too hot, and then curl lashes. Be careful, you do NOT want to burn your eyelid.
Place the wand of your mascara brush at the bottom of lashes and wiggle back & forth. Follow with another few sweeps of the wand. Sweep on bottom lashes as well.
